Yes
Most of my needs are for motorsport (rallying) and after getting a good price from Kerso it's only a matter of time before I get my hands on 1D Mark 11 N.

I have read all the reviews about the camera but would like to hear your views about it?

With the 1D body I'm looking at the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM to fit into my bag beside my 70-200 f4 L IS and the EF100-400mm 4.5-5.6 L IS

It doesnt get any better than the 1DMkII Series cameras for any sport.

plain MkII here as well, love it :)

Is the 24-70mm f/2.8L a good Accompaniment with the 70-200 and 100-400 that I allready have.

Thanks lads, looks like kerso will be on the job again.

One more point:
The biggest reason why I'm moving to the 1D is because of the 1.3 (FOVCF).

Can I have your comments on this please

Yes the 'n' is a cracking sports camera, not just the frame rate but also the fact that it is weather proof and believe me it really is, the best camera i've ever bought.

For me it's perfect, gives you that bit more reach at the longer end but wide's still wide enough

:agree:

1.3 is a great compromise for outdoor use. I had a 10D and couldn't get on with 1.6 crop. I've recently sold my 5D to fund a second 1D and for what I want it is spot on - that is mainly wildlife rather than sports but I guess the same things should apply.

Probably cant be beaten as a sports camera, except by the Mk III version! :D

your joking there about the mk3 surely? havent you seen the bad press regarding its poor af? ok its better in low light, but stuggling in sun. i know a guy that has but but is currently using his 400d as that is working better.

I want a mk2 or mk2n

This bad press you refer to is a storm in a tea cup and fixed by the next firmware upgrade at worst.

1D Mk III for me any day!
:D

Totally agree, Lots of people jump on the bandwagon slagging the MkIII but havent even got the camera...:cuckoo:

All this hype wouldnt stop me buying one..:)

Interesting.

Due to ongoing ill health, I may be selling my Mark II N and a 24-70 L if that would interest you?

PM me if it does?

Diego.

Andy Rouse has been using a Mark111 and reckons it's awesome. He categorically states there's nothing wrong with the camera at all. ;)

And I know of a Pro who lives not far from me who is using one and also say's its the users not the camera...;) His is perfect..

I went to a photo shoot yesterday, and the girl from getty had a 2x canon 1d mk11n's one with 24-70 f2.8 and another with 70-200 f2.8. This camera looked like it was built like a brick SH** house. Only one guy had a nikon, another 7 photographers had 1d series. I felt rather inferior with my 20D. I personaly will wait til the mk111 is available and initial glitches are sorted, it'll be worth the wait I'm sure.

There seems to be a lot more people happy with the mk3 than not, and a lot of talk against it from people who would never buy one anyway, personally I couldn't justify spending the extra and bought a secondhand 1D mk2N which I am over the moon with but I have a lot to learn having stepped up from the 30D and only having had it for just over a week.

From what Andy Rouse has been saying, the Mk3 isnt great out of the box, but a few minor tweaks in the highly customisable AF system and he gets more in focus shots than he has ever got before ! It's a pro camera, and is highly tweakable, so i guess the people with problems are just taking as is out of the box and saying its rubbish. Wont stop me buying one soon ;)

My ideal scenario. I've been semi seriously looking at the MkIII's but it just doesn't make sense for me at the moment.

I used one recently - mate at Canon has one and all I can say is the Mk3 is bloody wonderful - I want one!!!! BUT my Mk2n is brill so for now as I cannot afford it and there is nothing wrong with my Mk2n then I will have to make do :):)

I use a 24-105mm f/4 IS L rather than the 24-70 with mine - more reach and just as good too! I sold my 24-70 :)

Being talking to guy who works for Canon is saying the problems with it are due to the fact you have to have to set it up for every lens you have in your bag. Hoping to have a play with soon

Time to continue saving i think
