Girl at work posted the following on our internal trading site:

Canon EF 28-70mm f:3.5 - 4.5 zoom lens. Canon EF 70-210mm f3.5-4.5 USM zoom lens. Canon EF 24mm F2.8mm lens.

All mint condition she claims and she wants 50 quid for the lot!

I am on for two of them definitely for 40 quid but another fella is making his mind up about the 70-210.

She is also selling various polarisers at a quid each!

Now, I am not up on mrket value of used lens, but I get the distinct impression I am getting a right result here.

Can anyone confirm ball park figures for these lenses?

Cheers
Dave

ridiculously cheap :suspect:

I would be concerned about if they are stolen goods

Would doubt it Andy, she is posting them on a corporate trading site so she would be in serious trouble / would lose her job.

She is selling lots of bits, which would appear to back up her story that her dad is having a clear out

Something in the region of £4-£500. according to eBay.

Missed out on the 70-210 as she has sold that to someone else :|

I am keeping schtum Chris... I think she has genuinely no idea what these are worth.

I know people can sell them cheap to get rid, but this seems a bit extreme.

Rather than mess about choosing the filters (at a quid each) I just told her I'd take the job lot for a tenner :D

Various glass filters for camera lens' for sale: Hoya: 62mm 85B artificial light to daylight, 58mm circular polariser, 58mm skylight, 52mm circular polariser, 52mm skylight. PSL-Aico: 58mm NDx4, 58mm Softon. Photax: 58mm cross-screen, 55mm spot, 55mm vario colour R-G + Polariser, 55mm vario colour R-Y + polariser, 52mm circular polariser. Miranda: 58mm skylight. BDB: 58mm 6 parallel. All come boxed and in good condition. £10 the lot or £1 each.

28-70 is as you probably know an old lens but a good one none the less, I have one and think it very good.
The 70-210 was also a good lens, pretty much up there with an L series. Have one (on the wife's camera) and like it.
Prime - no idea but I'd guess pretty damn good.

I may be a bit of a kill joy but I think I'd mention that the items are cheap... and offer a more realistic price even if a little under the market value :$ (after all she's been saved the hassle of putting them on ebay.)

The 24mm wil be handy for me as I dont have a wide angle lens in my kit (cost was always the issue)

24-70 I took just because it was such agreat deal, but not sure if I would use it much as I have a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM already.

But at that price it wasnt worth not having it.

Any idea what the polarisers are worth as a ball park figure?

I see your point, but I have offered her the full price she was asking, so its not like I beat her down and robbing her intentionally.

If someone else was involved I would have raised the bid too.

Its like winning an EBay auction and then giving the seller more money because you think they have undersold.

:)

Maybe you're right and I suppose she's happy just unloading what she probably thinks is a load of rubbish. :)

The 24mm f2.8 is a superb lens!!!!!!!!!

Bill, the 70-210 is the one that got away. Some other fella took it. Would have used it myself as I only have the budget 70-300 lens at the mo.

My only hope is that he changes his mind before tomorrow... which I reckon is unlikely! :D
