This is the bit that got me:

"Mr Newby said: "They might bite if but they aren't venomous. If anyone spots the snake the best thing is to get a pillowcase and put it over your hand then pick up the snake and pull the pillowcase over it and tie the top. That's the easiest and safest way of catching a snake."

Nor firstly, I never really carry a pillow case around with me.

Secondly....... and more importantly, if I did happen to see one of these, or any other snakes I'll be running as fast as possible in the opposite direction, probably screaming like a little girl! (if you haven't guessed I have ophidiophobia)

Gah, all these Australians getting bitten off boomslangs, taipans etc, all they needed to do was get the council to cut the grass, problem solved!

Anyway there's been a snake loose round OOF for donkeys years and hasn't caused any (human) deaths yet that I'm aware of.

A boomslang is an African snake, and the name means 'tree snake' but I get the idea...:D

Typical aggressive immigrants :P How did it get through the Point Based System? Did someone think we haven't got enough snakes in the UK?

Must have squeezed through a loophole.

Actually, as an EU resident, it should be allowed in anyway!
