Hi all
I'm new to DSLR photography and I'm off to see my son in a play/musical at theatre tonight. I just wondered if anyone could help me out as to what sort of settings I will need to get decent shots of him on stage. With low lighting but lit stage yet needing higher shutter speed...any help would be appreciated

Would really help if you told us what equipment you have?

You will need a wide aperture, highest iso you can manage and a shutter to match your focul lenght at minimum... but thats just general. Wihtout knowing the light or equipment it would be difficult to tell you what settings.

As regards to setting then what Kipax says.

Is this a school production? If not and it's in a theatre then photography may not be allowed, so may want to check that out first?
