........... when you don't have a gun camera
I was at a "rather select" appartment complex today there are a couple of Koi ponds,
with some very large ( read expensive) Koi
I haven't been there for awhile, whilst passing a pond I thought Oh they have added a plastic heron
to keep away the others as I passed within 10 feet of it, it twitched! b****r its real!
I turned slowly and headed back to the car for the cam'ra as I reached the car,
only a few yards away it took to the air, and flew to the side of me at zero feet.
All I could do was salute and smile

I swear the animals and birds leg it when I actually do have a cam with me!

LOL - I can identify totally. We now have a standard agreement that when we're driving from place to place on holiday we leave our camera kits accessible on the rear seat, with tele lenses fitted! We have missed, among other things, a pair of peregrines, and a Golden eagle, thanks to having to get kit from the boot!
