Yes
Needed to post a parcel of a item I had sold , Walked as part of my daily exercise about a mile , on arrival the PO was closed ,
Walked home again and looked on the PO web site and sure enought it did say it was closed ,
I then used view others and found another local PO stating open ,
Result , so of I went and YAY its open
Approach the counter to be told sorry we are not taking parcels or letter since last tuesday  :$ ?

My small local post office is still operating

My local PO (single manned) was open and functional, but the owner is now self isolating.

Did you ask why they were not taking parcels or letters ?
Are they doing the other things that can be done at Post Offices ?

Our (small) local PO is still open and taking in parcels. Delivery is really slow at the moment, unsurprisingly ... I sent my son a small parcel first class last week and it took 6 days to arrive

I was told the postmen dont want contact with the public

Oh well now sent by Hermes instead

Today is a bank holiday, most PO counters are not open on bank holidays.

I have a parcel to post so Glad I couldn’t be bothered to take my walk that direction today, yet another bank holiday, what for this time? Are they open Monday?

I posted two parcels last week using Royal Mail "click and drop"
Buy postage online using either 24hr or 48hr service, can be tracked or tracked and signed for
These need to be dropped off at a customer service point i.e. sorting/delivery office

Very good service from my recent experience and avoids queuing in a post office.
Only downside is they are only open now between 07.00 and 09.00, closed Wed and Sun
Think some in bigger cities are open until 11.00, but can't swear to it

Today is Good Friday (a bank holiday every year.)

No, they won't be open on Monday either .... it's Easter Monday bank holiday, also happens every year.

Cheers, for years I’ve worked in 7 day a week jobs and not interested in religion so not up on holidays, my parcel will need to wait till Tuesday, done when I do the required shopping.

if you have any large sized business parks around you it may be worth looking for franked mail boxes, these have a secure slot that will take anything up to almost shoe box size. They are rebranded them as small parcel boxes round here and are great for online postage.

(not typically appropriate for signed for as no proof of posting, but never had one fail to arrive for work).

I have been sending a lot of my hand turned pens out on recent days and the lady in my local Post Office said that they are busier at the moment than a normal Christmas, and she recommended I save some money and buy 2nd class postage as first class is almost the same delivery time at the moment.

Posties here put letters through letter boxes and throw parcels on the ground. All the carriers are doing likewise. Customers and carriers are all happy with that.
Food deliveries are similar. Everything is in strong carrier bags and placed on the ground at the front door. 2 metre separation is adhered to.

I am incredibly fortunate to have a PO at the top of my garden! It’s a single manned unit and still open taking parcels. My postie did say they have never been busier.

I went to our local post box this morning to post a birthday card and the box was full up to the slot, looks like it hasn't been emptied in a while.

Must be an area to area thing, one opposite my house is emptied daily
Can hear its door clanging shut, in fact heard it about an hour ago

Have a read about Christmas. It’s great fun!
People still wanted electricity at holiday times, be a bit of an uproar if it went off at 5pm on a Friday till 9am Monday or two weeks in the summer.:naughty:

While your dedication to your work is admirable, I’m sure you weren’t the only one providing electricity to the nation :)

Other end of his (alleged) life.
