Hi Rupert

welcome aboard...tis a fun place to be in here

Look forward to seeing your images :)

Hi all,

Firstly I must say how good this challenge is going to be. I would have never picked up my camera and wondered down the end of my garden to play around with something new if it hadn't been for the 52.

Secondly, am I doing this right? Post all my pics on this thread and then update the thread title? How do I edit the title if so?

Ok, so my photo. Sin made me think of dark and nasty so I thought I would try and create a sinister and eerie image.

The image didn't go quite to plan. I had hoped to have the noose that made the shadow in the frame but it was to windy and blurred so I removed it in PP. The focus was on the noose so the shed is softer then I would have liked.

Yep - all your pics in your very own thread. You can edit the title, by editing the first post - may have to go advanced editor or whatever its callled.

Good first pic though, captured the eeirie feeling well.

Shame about the missing "actual" noose, the shadow is great but falls a bit low... not sure what you would be hanging at that height!

Hi Rupert nice start to the year, these are nicely on theme i prefer the second image, having the noose in just adds the finishing touch to the shot

Thanks Yuri. In hindsight I should have done the shot on a stiller night and had the noose still and therefore sharp.

That would have made it much better.... on the night you did take it you still had a bit of room to up the ISO to 200 or 400 without getting too much noise into the image surely?

Could have dropped the exposure to 10 or 5 seconds then.

Looks like the blur on the noose could have cleaned up in PP without too much trouble.

At least you've got the idea's, the technical stuff can be learnt! And we still have 51 more weeks to go at.

Ah yes, I hadn't thought about raising the ISO. I just went straight to 100 to avoid noise. I looked at removing the blur in PP which as you said would have been easy but you can't correct the fact that the remaining rope is fuzztastic :)

I like the mood and lighting of your image. Would just have removed the twigs on the left and top of the frame and had the negative space continuing upwards for a full portrait ratio (I don't like non standard crops :)).

Well, I have just sat down to edit my project 52 pics from today and have just done the most stupid thing in my life.

I took my sd card out of my camera and went to insert it into the reader on the side of my iMac. But oh no, I am not capable of achieving such simple tasks. I have just inserted the sd card in to the cd drive of the mac and now it has disappeared in to the internals.

No 52 fun for me just a trip off to the mac store with the whole computer to get a genius to pull it apart for me.

Anyone know how to open up an iMac?

can you not just tip it up on its side and see if it falls out

Here is my week 2 guys. I was struggling to think of a good shot until the snow arrived. Now I have a couple of shots of the rare and seasonal lesser spotted snow spaniel. Which do you prefer?

I really like the high key look to these, 1 is the better of the two imo. It would have been easy to lose the white dog against the white back ground, so it is well done to have managed to not overdo it.

And a cute cute snow dog :-)

Hi Rupert :)

Have you posted a photo and a link to here in the 'Photo's Only' thread I have only just found you while looking for 'Toggers missing in action' :D

Post your new images HERE with a link and you will get MUCH more visits :) - Most people will just use that thread to direct them to the newest uploads
