hi all found this progame link on the luminous landscape websight great for landscape photographers type in your location and it shows you the direction and time of the sunrise and sunset. the desktop one is free there is also an app for the i phone and ipad here's the link

looks like a handy bit of info to have at your fingertips... but the install keeps reporting errors - this is for the desktop version.

I've been using this for a while now. Very useful free tool. I shoot a lot of aviation and it's very useful to find out of a particular spot will be good at a particular time of day.
I wish I had an iphone so I could take it with me.
