I was thinking today about starting a thread like this!

I love Christmas, and all the planning and build up, been listening to my Xmas playlist since early Sept!

About to order my turkey - Kelly Bronze again for the seventh (at a guess) year running. If you are after a great turkey, look no further. Normally get an 8kg one, and it seriously cooks in around two and a half hours (maybe a tad more for most as I think my cooker runs hotter). Lovely flavour and beats the supermarket stuff hands down!

I'm loving Christmas, it is a great time of year and will be lovely to wind down and catch up with friends and family...

Woohoo! Christmas!

New John Lewis Christmas ad was aired for the first time last night

Another well executed video and heart warming short story

John Lewis Christmas Advert 2014 - #MontyThePengu…:

It's been cancelled. Didn't you get the email?

Yes, it's me and I don't exist!

Hopefully if santa gets his quota of sherry, he'll be too p***ed to fly before he gets out of Aukland

for me, the run up starts with the clocks going back, and our old British tradition of All Hallows Eve (now associated with ghoulies ) Oct 31

The end of the year, work quiet and hopefully will be taking a break from Sat before Christmas until after New Year's Day (can't be guaranteed if you work for yourself, but looking good at the moment)

I like flavouring my roast - including chestnut & cranberry stuffing, some bacon pieces and our local butcher makes some really divine sausages such as venison & red wine - and to invert the bird during roasting so the juices flow into the breast helping to avoid a dry overcooked bird, the flesh of which has been likened in taste and consisitency of a mix of horsehair and plaster of Paris

I'm really looking forward to it this year.

Food is ordered, lets hope we don't get really bad snow as delivery drivers won't drive on single track roads in the snow. We aren't leaving the house this year. I'm done taking 2 exhausted kids down to gran and grandad as they are too young to deal with all the presents that they get bought for them.

I love Christmas dinner. We might be eating it on our laps though as the kids main Christmas present is a table den that i've made for them so they might not want it taken down for Christmas dinner.
