The new toy!

So i've been debating for a while on what kind of lens to go for as an upgrade from the standard 18-55mm kit lens that was supplied with my 500D.

After spending hours reading reviews, I finally settled on an Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM!

Ordered the lens yesterday morning from mpbphotographic.co.uk at 8:59am - received it at 9am this morning! - very impressed!

Stuck at work at the moment, but had a quick play around with it in the office - So much faster at focusing than the other lens, and i cant get over how quiet it is!

I reckon i might have to go on my travels tonight to test it out!

I've been debating the same should i just buy a 500d body and this Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM or should i stick with the kit lens 18-55mm

I've heard the 17-85mm is not a good lens so be good to see some shots on a 500d, Don't worry i'm easliy impressed
