No
.........but can anything else "boggle"?

Legs Akimbo - have you ever heard of anything else being "akimbo"?

Any other words that seem to be reserved for one sentence only?

Damn - I'm going to be thinking about this all day, curses!!!

You can apparently have your arms akimbo - its orginally meant that something was bent ;)

And you could have it boggles the mind :)

Well it can boggle the imagination, but this one I found sounds well dodgy:

"to be very surprised and uncertain about how to deal with something:
- He boggled at the suggestion."

I hate boggle.

Its the only board/family game that I completely and utterly cannot stand. I just can't do it :(

So was I the only one who had to look that up ;)

"discombobulated - having self-possession upset; thrown into confusion; "the hecklers pelted the discombobulated speaker with anything that came to hand"; "looked at each other dumbly, quite disconcerted"- G.B.Shaw"

Can't think of any at moment (although I will have to!)

A few things boggle my mind but remember that 9 out of 10 doctors agree that 1 out of 10 doctors are idiots. :D

So was I the only one who had to look that up

Ha ... I had to look up boggles and akimbo ...

And anyway ... :suspect:

... stupid thread this ... mutter ... mumble ... grumble ... bah humbug ... etc., ... etc., ...

:p

bog·gle (bŏg-l)

v., bog·gled, bog·gling, bog·gles.

v.intr.
To hesitate as if in fear or doubt.
To shy away or be overcome with fright or astonishment: “The mind now boggling at all the numbers on the table, both sides agreed to a recess of an hour” (Henry A. Kissinger).

So no it would appear only the mind can boggle as it seems to be a word that describes an emotional reaction to something, or i guess a person could boggle?

------------------------------------------------------------

The adjective akimbo has one meaning:

Meaning #1: (used of arms and legs) bent outward with the joint away from the body

The adverb akimbo has one meaning:

Meaning #1: with hands on hips and elbows extending outward

In a more general sense it means bent or bowed so it could apply to lots of things e.g that tree branch is akimbo :)

Boggles....Dartmouth(Devon) meaning....

A member of the Dartmouth Boggle and Word Yahztzee sports club (Amateur) established just before teatime 1993.

See Here for more details on the lunatics. Their presence at sporting events (usually regattas, road races and marathons) can usually be detected by fellow nutters giving the club war cry of "Boggle Boggle!"

Oh, and in my view eyes can wander too......sometimes earning their owner a slap! ;)
