The Mayor's Thames Festival will be this weekend 8th and 9th of September in London.
It offers a lot of opportunities for some great pictures and is a nice runner up for the Team GB Parade on Monday the 10th, link for the Festival website.

There will be fireworks on Sunday and in both days there will be a free photography workshop and the chance to enter your pictures in a competition with a Nikon D5100 as a top prize and a bunch of other runner up prizes. Link for the free photography workshop.

Not sure witch spot will be good to get the fireworks, went there ages ago as an spectator and it was quite crowded, very crowded. So any help will be appreciated, could be nice If I could get the London Eye as background.
Looks like Tower Bridge will be raised as well for some Barge Sailing
