out for 15 minutes before the rain testing yet another new to me lens . it started a few weeks ago when by chance I went after a tripod on Facebook market place ., the seller was also selling off a couple of large nikon lenses a 500mm f4 and a 200-400 vr f4 from her fathers estate .. as they were a extremely good price and she needed the money for her mother I bought them on the spot .. I played around with them for a couple of weeks and came to the conclusion they were far to heavy for my type of shooting , I also had the tamron 150-600 g2 which although good gave inconsistent results
so the three lenses have now been sold on and I have replaced them with a 200-500 vr which is more manageable for me weight wise and a new 100-400mkii lens for my olympus hopefully this will keep me happy through the winter .
here's a couple of test shots with the 200-500 had 15 minutes of play before the heavens opened this morning about half a hour after receiving the lens

The 200-500 is a very good Nikon DSLR lens, I had great results with it on my D500 many years ago, I should have said, my favourite lens of all time on the D500 was the 500mm PF especially if you are looking to reduce weight !

Basically Adam it’s just a backup system to my Olympus , but my lad has a new Z8 and if I like the results from that who knows . Early days

I love my Z8 with 400mm 4.5, the 180-600 was great too as that is internal zoom too.
