People have always been curious about the secret to longevity and what makes some people live even more than 100 years. These 5 exceptional ladies have a pretty good idea – they were all born in the 1800s.

These amazing women lived through many major events in our world’s history, like two World Wars, the Cold War, the development of the airplane, the invention of television, and, eventually, the age of the Internet.

Not only their age, but living in 3 different centuries.

Bloody nora! I wonder how many generations they have produced lol

Saying somebody is 116 years sounds impressive but when you put it into some kind of context, it's amazing.

I'm 43 years old. The same age these women were at the outbreak of World War 2

Somebody born 200 years probably knew them in person.

They would have been toddlers around this time.....

I remember reading something somewhere, a while ago now, about people born today. With the medicines & science we have now, there is the potential for a large % (possibly the majority) of them to live to the age of 100 yrs.
The problem is, with sedate lifestyles & junk/processed food etc, the generation born today could actually live shorter lives than their parents.

I thought you would be on that list Carl...................:p
