As stated above really!

After a nice evening of sailing and perhaps a (wittle) drinking and catching up with old school friends, I come home to my flat in Central london to find people dealing and snorting cocaine below our windows!:bang::nono::bang::bang:

we get people erm, hmm, how to put it.... emptying their bowles here quite often -and worse on some occasions. but its the first time ive called the police and told them about the issue AND that I had a camera ready! so they said to take as many pics as I liked! :D:D

well, its been 20 mins still NOTHING! despite there being armed police officers round the corner, but if/when they show up (I hope) that its "your nicked my son":lol:

the pics are awful as taken with a kit lens and on-camera flash, drunken, from a distance, in the dark, but I will try and post them tomorow if anyones interested. and if im sober!:lol:

-sorry, rant over! phew!-

Ring the police back and inform them that they needn't call anymore, as you've shot them....they'll be round in a flash :p

DISCLAIMER: I don't advise actually doing this

I remember reading a news story several years back where a man was having his garden shed burgled. He rang the police to be told that it would be a while before any police could get there as there were none in the area. He then called back telling them there was no need to come because he'd shot the burgler. So the police turn up within a couple of minutes and say "I thought you said you shot him?" to which he answers "I thought you said there were no units near by?"
Always cracks me up

Pun intended? :naughty:

I'm not sure I would be using flash if taking pictures of crackheads. In fact taking pictures of them is probably the last thing I would do, let alone alert them of my presence with a flash

You type very well for being "drunk"

-im a student! its something we have to learn to do otherwise nobody would get anything done. wait..... we don't get anything done, we are bloody students :lol:

You near Aldgate/Brick Lane ?

No! im staying with the parents for the start of the summer, its right in W1! Opposite selfridges on Oxford St. its not uncommon for stuff like that around here

Agreed. will try to get them posted after I get other ("actual") work done:D

Well, since the police are never anywhere to be seen, and we got fed up waiting for them to show up, we decided to try and scare them away instead by taking their pics, and using flash. they couldn't do anything as we were so high up! and as MisterE says, Boiling Oil! Problem solved. I wish I had thought of that at the time

I didn't know the bond street area was drug central. I would have guessed that is one of the nicest areas of London.

sid

well, its not "drug central"

but the problem is that there are loads of clubs around here. From trashy low-end ones to the high-end ones where the celebrities go. And therefore on fridays and the weekend you can find people at night around here taking some form of drugs (usually cocain).

because there are the "classy" clubs and things too, we often get "high-end" drug dealers sitting in big black mercedes with boombing music coming out of them in the wee hours of the morning. thats the most annoying thing!

there also was a crack-house drug bust once near by, but I think that was a coincidence:lol:

london is a nightmare like that.

no matter how nice a street you are in you can almost guarantee there is a council estate full of chavs within about 150 yards.

i'm not saying there is anything wrong with council estates mind - just by observation i think they have a higher density of undesirables living in them!

I do find thats a problem when you leave central london! I live on the estate here in mayfair.

its not a council estate, but Peabody Trust "housing for the deserving poor" -they really don't keep up to their word as nobody here is poor, all very middle class and no chavs strangely... its alot better than alot of other places. i'll put it like that!

Got a prowler and don't fancy waiting 2 hours for the police.

Dial 999 and ask for the fire service - say you think you smell gas. They'll arrive mob handed in about 4 mins.

You'll find they don't. They advise you to phone your gas supplier. And I don't advise a hoax call to the Fire Service, you don't know where you're taking the resource further from an actual incident ie dwelling fire with persons reported/life risk. :nono: Hope you were joking when you said that

It was tongue in cheek;)

Just to inform: 'crackheads' and 'cokeheads' are two completely different things.

Cokeheads are the aggressive loud ***** that spill your pint and kick off a fight on a night out.

Crackheads are the guys that broke into your house and nicked your camera while you were out :)

The part of London I live in is far nicer than the *****hole in Hampshire I grew up in :) So many good things about being in the city...

I went to university in Hull, now you want to talk about strange places people want to live? :P

I don't think thats exactly PC towards people that actually live in Hull!

London...Hull....London.....Hull ???

I'll take Hull pls, by a truly biblical margin...:)

It was when the train I was on leaving Hull got pelted by a gang of kids hurling bricks I decided I didn't want to go back :)

London sure has it's problems, but when you're young it's a fantastic place to live. I wouldn't bring up kids here though.....if that doesn't sound like too much of a contradiction :D

Still no pics, poor effort.

I'd much rather live in London compared to where I grew up, maybe that's because I'm still quite young, like to go to pubs and clubs. Also it's got great places for pics, all my friends are here, it's where I work, great place for gigs and exhibitions need I go on??

Lucky I'm not PC then :) No less so than the original comment about London :)

It's not really fair to lump 'London' into one place though. It's got some *really* bad areas and some *really* good areas. One of the things that makes the place interesting is that these place are quite often right next to each other! I'd rather that than stay in Basingstoke where I grew up, which is about as bland and mediocre as life can possibly get.

I'm a bit strange as I live in London but work outside, but it's nice commuting the opposite way to everyone else :P

I can't imagine living anywhere else in the UK outside london!

And yet in september, i am going off to live in deepest darkest wales for 3 years at Aber Uni:lol:!

I could see having a second home somewhere nice, but I just couldn't stay there for ages! Theres something about london lol! But i dunno if its just "london" itself, or any large city that I could be fine in. will have to go n see.

fine sir...we'll be there within the hour (or something)
phoned back 3 mins later...it's okay I've shot him (or hit him with a shovel)
there were there within 8 minutes.

pics required though!!
call it candid street photography
