At a recent meet up at Smallwood Vintage Steam Rally a challenge was set and accepted. The challenge was to use a 1950s folding camera to take photos at the rally representing the 1950s.

This thread is for the entries.

Once all four contestants have submitted their entries, up to three photos each, a poll will be opened for all members to vote for their favourite image.

Here we go...

1950 Ensign Selfix 16/20 model II, with Ross Xpres lens on Ilford XP2

1950s Americana.

Used a mid 1950s Franka Solida II (currently in the fix it box with a broken back hinge) with FP4+

As I'm useless at dating, cars or ladies, had to use the info on the only 1950s car I could be sure of, but it had been badgered before I got there. The others must have something 50s in them if only by random chance.

A sense of Deja Vu

Sure I've seen this before

Someone or something 50s

One of these bikes or riders must date from the 50s, perhaps even the chap on the Sinclair C

Never can find that spanner

Again one of these spanners, or the stall holder with the tea towel hiding his face must be from the 50s

Voting now open.

Anyone can vote. It's just a bit of fun so do join in.

One vote - one week.

And the winner of the Fabulous '50s Folders Fabulous '50s Challenge is @FishyFish

Congratulations Nige.

The prize is a ride in a Porsche with James Dean.

:)
No it's not, don't be silly! If you remember, it's this beautiful and hopefully possibly unique 3D portrait of a poodle sitting in front of an attractive floral background (as seen on left).

Well, actually it's a poorly taken photo of it for Nige to print out and frame (subject to any copyright restrictions permitting this of course), as we couldn't afford the real thing! Well done Nige. (y)

Will I need a 3D printer?

Presumably yes, in the sense of a real printer as opposed to a photograph of one?

I mean to properly print out the 3D poodle picture that forms part of @Mr Badger 's photo. This is me being silly BTW. :)
No, as the photo was taken with a standard camera not a 3D one. Apparently, that picture is known as a Lentograph: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular_printing and was produced by an American company called Victor Anderson 3D Studios Inc.

The name of this particular masterpiece was 'Bijou', and some speculation exists as to whether this may have been the name of the poodle who modelled for it. You'll have to excuse me now as I'm feeling a little bilious. Isn't it amazing where an F&C get together can lead us!
