The little elves have been sending me lots of extra work this month.

So............ I will be ordering my D300 plus grip with 18-70mm and 70-300mm lenses next week.

I should get them just before xmas.

Wonder how my manual 500mm mirror lens plus convertors will work on the D300.

Cant wait to get it now

Next save will be a new flash and the

Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8 D ED for lower light work
 
You'll love them. I have the D300 and a few lens'. I let the 18-70 go that came with it because I tend to use the 18-200mm as my walkaround lens. It was a nice lens though!
The 70-300vr is great for the money. Nice bokeh. I'm bidding on a 70-200mm 2.8 at the moment. Will know at 8.00pm tonight. ;-)

I have a D70 but hope you really like the D300. I wouldn't mind one myself. Trouble is I want to get a macro, monitor callibrator, new pc at some stage etc etc! Only thing missing is the money!
 
May I ask what you got the 70-200 for?

Northstreet1, fortunately 1 of my companies is a systems builder for PC systems, so I get those at a good price, especially when my last high end system self destructed and the Insurance paid for a new one:)

Just had a good couple of months re money for camera stuff, so been lucky really.

Apart from the oven self destructing the day before yesterday and having to get a new one in before Christmas.

Hi.
Paid £828, on ebay. There was an immaculate one going for £750 buy it now. After i won mine! should arrive in next couple of days. I've been tinkering with getting one for a while.
 
Just realised, you may have meant 'WHY' did I buy the 70-200mm.
Simply for the 2.8 and better quality. I'm hoping my kenko 1.4 will work ok with it.

No you were right first time, I was being nosy about the cosst as I will be saving up for something similar next.
