No point buying it really now is there

I think that's being very picky.
You could probably chuck in that it doesn't photosynthesise nor does it act as a dual-hob cooker.
I understand that other manufacturers may offer those things, but some of them may not be relevant to the proper functioning of the camera.
Surely a con should be something that actively detracts from the use/purchase of the camera?
I think that's being very picky.
Why the double standard?
Their list is selective.
You mean like for the Pentax K-7?
More RAW noise than predecessor (but in line with competition)
Then why isn't it mentioned on the competitions review
Contrast detect AF so slow it's useless for most types of photography (not much different on the competitors though)
Then why isn't it mentioned on the competitions review
HDR and a range of other features only available in JPEG mode
At the time of release the K-7 was the only camera with HDR
So we all agree the only reviews you can trust are Ken Rockwell's.
I believe the blurbs I have seen that in body IS isnt as effective as IS in the lens because having an IS system specifically designed and set up for a lens is more effective than just a general IS in body system.
Top post!![]()
For most people shooting anything other than sports and action, I wouldn't get too excited. When any product crams as many features as the 7D does into one product, no one ever can figure out how to use them.
Canon and Nikon do it this way because they believe lens based IS/VR it is technically better. Cynics may say it is profiteering, but if it is such a bad idea why do almost all Pro's use Nikon or Canon gear?

I havn't bothered looking at the rest in detail because it seems wherever the above list came from is by someone who has an axe grind and clutching at straws. The one highlighted in red is a typical smoke and mirrors point - they failed to mentioned that the 7D has more cross type sensors than the D300(S); which in my book is a damn sight more important than having more sensors in general.
Spot on... I only ever use the 1 AF point at any one time anyway...
