Today in a world of 24/7 reporting and information being freely available to all in the news media the evil of mans actions are constantly being brought to light for all to see

Another example of how the super rich and powerful will exploit the world and it's people at any cost for their own person gain

I agree nothing changes, always blame the super rich and powerful.

Too bloody right here! its hardly the poor and insignificant who want to destroy their environment for profit, is it?

Fully agree, and shame about that comment as it detracts from a very important report.

So it is not like the civil servants involved are rich and powerful are they? Actually there is no indication in the artical about that at all.

There is nothing wrong with rich. There is a lot wrong with destroying the environment, with officials not protecting the people they work for, with not looking out for our fellow human beings. There is also a big cause in us keep on demanding lower and lower prices for everthing.

Don't be an arse and turn this in another anti rich people rant.

OK, so what are you doing about it, other than just moan about it on the internet?

The only thing that I can really do is to bring it to your attention (on the internet) - at least then some people who are not aware of it will be ......... I think its called "Share"

as for Elephants and wildlife that's a different consideration ...... I try to support conservation as best I can with the odd 50 pence here and there and a little work when I am out in S Africa for 2 months a year

TBH you need to consider how you might change the way human (and animal) wildlife is valued in India before you will make any difference in this situation.

Indeed. Donkey and horse charities have slowly been turning the tide of attitude towards welfare of working animals. Slowly they're educating people that a happy and fit donkey/horse is one that can work. And that literally there is no point flogging a dead horse.
