A thread to share photography stuff we find on the interwebz, I get about a bit like anyone but we all travel in different circles and I think its good to take a look at things outside our usual radar range.
Although this is the film forum, digital is a valid medium, it still makes pictures a film bone head can derive inspiration from, so if you think its cool, post it up.

This guys studio stuff is cool, Guido Mocafico

Mostly 8x10 film

ing pointless post.

Nah! keep it film only........film guys are not dumb enough not to know that there are some excellent digital shots on forums, sites and flickr etc, even the digital shots changed in photoshop are interesting.

Another amazing phototgrapher, again large format stuff and amazing pl/pd prints

http://www.kenroizu.com

ps. Great idea Joxby

So I was thinking browsing those prints, I was thinking 14 x 20 , what enlarger set up he was using because that is quite big.
Then on his profile page I read that he CONTACT PRINTS them from the 14 x 20 negs produced by a custom made Deardorff.....

unequivocally cool

I know, it's completely mental. You just can't believe how big that camera is until you see it, and he went long distances with that thing. Those prints are amazing though, I would just like to be able to afford them

I wasn't swearing...

... and the word was? Relevant to my post I thought. More big boots I feel.

Ho hum - looks like another ban coming up...

I'm not going to argue with you. You know what the word was, mods and admin can see post edits so we can all tell what the word was.

Nothing to do with big boots. When someone reports a rule breach, we deal with it. I could have given an infraction but I decided just to post a reminder. Hardly heavy handed was it.

Well, thanks all to [that hot place where the devil lives] and back for that - but it still makes my post look pointless - maybe next time you decide to edit my stuff be so good as to delete the whole thing eh?

Your filter is a bit odd at times as once I typed a non swear word and got asterisks.

That's some excellent work there Guy, thanks for the link.

Great thread, I have loads of links but these are my favourite..

Mike Stacey
Minimalist landscape images shot on 5x4

Andrew Ren
Awesome b&w images again large format

thiaps
Lots of cool film images, mostly from flickr "film isn't dead it just smells funny"

Not sure if people are aware but Tim Parkin and Joe Cornish are going to start publishing a monthly online magazine on landscape photography. They both shoot film so hopefully it will be really good :D

As an avid fan of Mr Parkin I mentioned it here but I don't think many people saw it. Tim already has some of the most useful comparisons seen so I have very high hopes for this indeed. Can't wait for Monday!

I don't really know anyone in this field that is famous for shooting 645.
They might all shoot it at one point or another but generally they shoot the glam formats.
I know plenty of 6x6'ers..

Holy thread revival batman!!

Still a good idea for a thread though (y)

Edit: and a damned good film as well. Makes me want to break out the tools

Good thread. I was going to link mauricebroomfield.com but it seems it's disappeared in the last 6 months :( Wonderful industrial photos - seems that they're on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum, though, so I might have to make a pilgrimage.

I was looking through this the other week, though - http://photogrammar.yale.edu/ - an archive of the wonderful United States Farm Security Administration and Office of War Information photos from the 30s and 40s. Great depression work from the likes of Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans.
