Yes
Just spotted a few tastey items on the Canon Outlet, ive bought 2 bodies a printer, scanner and a Fax machine all from the Outlet and everything has come as new.

Im thinking about putting a bid in for a couple of items, namely the 180mm f3.5L macro and a 5D.

I too can confirm my Canon 85L came from here and was indeed brand spanking new when it arrived, I thought it was refurbished when I bought it, but simply brand new and never been used when it arrived..:)

Yup, decided not to buy just yet, its the wrong time of the month for me.... not in that way... im not a lady.... I like to buy things when it gives me a full 6 weeks on Visa.

Bought two printers from them. First one was a return with a full test report but they failed to notice the LCD wasn't working :-( Took them nearly two months to pick it up and then another two weeks to refund! Main problem was the courier company they use and then needed a remoinder, finally after it was picked up, to isse the refund.

Second one has been perfect and actually did look new.

My conclusion is that if you get a clear bargain it is worth the risk, but often items are not really that much of a bargain so bid carefully and shop around too. If you get a duffer expect inefficiency and to have to wait for refund.

Other thing to remember is if you do get a duff product they won't replace, it's only a refund. If it's nothing too serious though you can send it back to Canon for repair, possibly worth it if the price is right.

I have been waiting for about four months for my instruction manuals for my 20D (they forgot to include them in the box). Have emailed them sooo many times it's getting ridiculous. They always just say that Canon have addressed the problem & the manuals will be with you by the end of the week - nope, still not here. (Am happy with the cam, just not the customer service)

When I was looking to upgrade from the 350 to a 20D, I kept my eye on these. Unfortunately, with it being so well known items are guaranteed to get lots of bids, and end up going for not much less than usual ebay prices.

However, there are still some bargains to be had, and you're buying from a reputable supplier after all. It's just the bargains are few and far between than I'd have liked.

So I bought a new 30D from Jessops :D

Some real bargains today, doubt any will go for as cheap as they seem though, 5D £1340 4hour left, EFS17-85IS £270 5hours, Lide 60 £16 5hours.

I was a was a rich man....de de de de de de de dedede deeeee

350D refurbed going for £380. I bought mine new for £358. :D But I guess that's unfair.

The 5D body only at £1319 with 2h19m left.

Silly maybe, but the question thats running through my mind is, where do they get all this stuff to 're-furbish' from

Display stock maybe?

They are all returned to Canon. Digital River as they are known, refurb all of them and then in conjunction with Canon (Partner Comapnies) sell them on Ebay as they cannot officially resell them via the shops even as Refurbs.

This information came from the Seller at Canon when I investigated about starting a business with them.

I think its quite widely known that most of the kit looks brand new but I have heard that some have gone on to be sold in a terrible state. A mate of mine had to send his 20D back with a huge crack in the case that just couldnt have been missed by their quality control.

To reiterate as well, you only get a refund and not a replacement from them.

I am sure that there are some cameras that have "developed" problems sometime in to the 1 years warranty and always the biggest fear when I have thought about buying from them is How much real use the camera has had. After all their is no way of finding out yourself easily on some models so I guess that becomes POT LUCK!!!

Having said all of that, you seem to be getting bigger bargains on the more expensive equipment that I feel a little tempted by at the moment (1dmkIIN but would I know how to use it better.... nah).

Bit odd that one

"The seller ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid price."

And the one and only winning bid was placed within 20 mins of listing. Other 5Ds are below reserve at that price.

On occasions they make huge cockups. Sometimes items go in on a BUY IT NOW at ridiculous prices and get snapped up straight away. On other occasions they just seem to end for some reason.

I keep my eyes open on a lot of stuff from there to see if there is a bargain to be had. A mate of mine used to work for them and claimed that the systems they have frequently went down causing problems with the Ebay side of things to the point where people couldnt pay for the goods as the system was screwed which in turn means lots of phone calls to try and resolve.

Although he also said that a lot of the stock is ex demo stuff or had legitimate problems that are fully resolved in the workshop.
