A friend and I are looking at joining The Bureau Of Freelance Photographers, I wondered if anyone here was a member and if so have they managed to sell photos through them?

CT mentioned it in a thread last year before I'd joined (thanks handy search utility) when someone was asking about a press badge.

Basically they have a huge two page spread in Digital Photo magazine this month and you can join for £49 a year - they send you a newsletter that tells you what photos people are after and you can submit them and get paid. Theres also a big handbook that has a list of all of the companies who participate.

I've looked at them before and considered it... I seem to remember they run some sort of course (which I presume costs more than the £49 membership fee).

I decided against joining, but did pick up a copy of their 'Freelance Photographers Market Handbook' (or whatever they call it). It lists LOTS of magazines/newspapers etc.. to target if you're trying to sell your work.
