Most other recent comedies usually Involve American teenagers In some school talking about romance and some wetbag who doesn't get the girl until the end or they've broken up.:gag:

The only one of those films I've seen is Up in Smoke. I do remember it as a complete classic but it's more than possible that my memory of it is...... ummmm..... lets say clouded shall we. :lol:

Apart from Porkies, one of the best American teen movies ever, the gym scene had me in stitches...

I have seen Clerks, Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob - not really my type of film. I just don't get the 'humour', but then my other half thinks Kevin Smith (or whatever he's called) films are great :shrug:

Id have to disagree, I find stoner movies to be extremely unfunny. I get the jokes I just dont find them funny although I do tend to prefer stuff like monty python.

I'm not a great lover of American teen comedy films. One comedy film called Baby's day out just had me and my family in stitches from start to finish ;)

Grosse Pointe Blank. One of the best dark comedies ever. Makes me laugh out loud every time.

Whats there to get though? Stoner movies mostly do skits of things like fanboys and other stuff.:D
 
I too don't 'get' stoner movies.

I think they are the type of movie that you have to 'relate to' by personal experience :nono: if you get what i mean.

I prefer Monty Python, Morcambe & Wise, etc.
 
Just watched Clerks 2 and that movies the bomb.

It even had the Buffalo Bill dance from silence of the lambs.

Aye that film came to mind as well. Living In Oblivion is another comedy I like.

I wouldn't say the best comedies are stoner movies, plenty aren't like Some Like It Hot, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Shaolin Soccer, King Fu Hustle, etc...
