Is this the best Christmas ever ? . . .
Just me, my lovely wife, a box of Mr Kipling mince pies
and a bitch called Covid.

3 years 'on the run' but it finally caught up with me.

Ah no! What a custard!

Get well soon

e Thanks for asking Bob, I'm ok, cold symptoms only and an inclination to sit about and do nothing ? Actually that might be totally unrelated to the covid ?
Went to daughter for lunch, yesterday, to find Son-in-law laid low by a bug. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a ploy to get out of doing the Christmas Eve afternoon/evening turn: always a "favourite" with traffic constables, or so I've been told. :naughty:

Actually, he seemed rather sorry for himself, which is not his usual style. :(

Wifey has the lurgy, although she has tested negative twice the last 2 days. She has coughed at least one lung up though.

Hope you get well soon.

Hope you're on the mend, Roy (and others in similar situations).

Mrs Nod and her Mum both had it over commercialmas but I seem to have managed to beat it off... Both were completely symptom free and only tested because one of the MiL's care team tested positive last Tuesday. Worst thing has been having to be her carers for the duration, although it does mean we got to see a quartet or (probably) Roe deer from our bedroom window this morning! MiL has been dreading it ever since her brother was an early fatality from it.

6th day testing positive (may be more ? ) I'm doing ok but I'm pi**ed off being 'shut off' Is there such a thing as an average number of positive days ?

Hope you get a single line soon, Roy. If you're up to it, there's no reason why you can't get out for a walk, as long as you keep well away from people. You could even meet up with others as long as you keep your distance. (AFAIK, you're even allowed to go to work with it these days, just to spread the joy...)

Yes,I have been out walking, twice a day since day1 of infection. Usually with my wife, who has thus far avoided catching it (previously had it in july) I am careful to keep my distance from everyone.

Day 13 here. I think it very much depends on the person. My wife tested positive the same time as me, but tested negative just 3 days later.

Day 13 positive . . . . gulp I feel for you Marc while hoping I don't get anywhere near that.

Hope you're feeling better soon Roy, Covid is a gift that keeps on giving.

I think having an underlying condition has been a big factor for me so I would imagine I'm the exception rather than the rule. All the best to you for a speedy recovery, Roy.

To be honest I never see the point of testing everyday.
The one time I had Covid, test positive first day then I didn't test for a week, we know it's 7 to 10 days (at least) so I waited 6 days till I did a second test. For me it lasted nearly 3 weeks.

IIRC it took about 10 days for me to test negative, though I'd been quite sick (and testing negative) for 3-4 days before the first positive test.

Well guys, I almost wish I hadn't asked.
