Good job you don't live here then anymore...as to the list is a complete load of crap...as being from near Coventry I really don't actually like the place the local paper and had stories in the last 2 weeks the first was Coventry voted second best place in the UK to live then this week ran with Coventry in top 10 worst places to live..so it shows what an utter load of tosh this sort of stuff is...

I mean come on
 
They've missed off Brighton altogether. That should be in the list instead of York.

These lists are a bit of fun, but this guy has written a book around this list? Based on what? Who has lived in all these places to be able to judge them?

Must admit, I'm surprised to see york on there.
 
I'm surprised Milton Keynes isn't on the list - its significantly more crap than high Wycombe
 
I don't know whether to be glad or amazed that Sunderland hasn't made it this year :D
 
Strange list, I heard when they used Redcar beach for 1940 Dunkirk it needed some improvements to look as good as Dunkirk after the Luftwaffe bombed it ;)

From a Northern perspective, York on the list and Middlesbrough isn't? :shrug:
 
Disagree using the a picture of 'the hunt' to describe a carp town :(
 
I could think of worse south coast towns than Southampton. Bournemouth for one and its neighbour Boscombe which has been dubbed drugs capital of the south.

And technically the photo they used looks like one of Southamptons surrounding towns, probably Shirley or Redbridge.

(For the record I don't live in Southampton, that just the closest known town to me :) )

No 1 should be Cleethorpes, a god awful place that stinks of fish.
 
Barrow in furness.

Simply one hell of a crap hole. There is a reason they build nuke subs there... If they go wrong and blow the town up no one can tell the diffrence.
Also the radiation leak would help the locals...

Boscombe I understand but Bournemouth? Why is it so bad?

I've lived in Birmingham and would rate it worse than Southampton or Bournemouth, and I much preferred Bournemouth to Southampton.

More chavs/yobs. In b''outh and the surrounding towns.

Lived in a few b"mouth and sotton surrounding towns now and have to say sotton is the nicer area. The sotton/hants councils do a better job too.

The list is flawed......there's not mention of Luton which should be way out on top :)
 
Who ever came up with that list has obviously never visited Camborne way down in Cornwall
 
There's always going to be some disagreement but how a list like that hasn't got Northampton or Basingstoke on it is a complete mystery.
 
I don't think the author of the list has visited any of the fenland Cambridgeshire towns like chatteris and wisbech. Peterborough is also completely soulless (but has a slightly more diverse gene pool).

I haven't been to wisbech for about 5 years, the last time i did, I recall some grunt (filthy tracksuit, big thick bushy monobrow) taking running kicks at pigeons he'd been feeding his chips to and booting them across the street, breaking the bird up into bits. Made me feel sick. How anybody could do such a thing for laughs is beyond me.

The people who compiled that list should get out more.
 
Middlesborough and Burnley could do with a make over on a grand scale.
 
Thinking more, I can't understand why Peterlee was overlooked. Or maybe I can. It's at it's best when it's overlooked, for the sake of sanity. Your brain simply shuts down to prevent irrevocable damage :D
