I have been umming and Arghing for quite some time and I just had to do it...

Could not bring myself to get a D300 as that would be upgrade envy... and what I really wanted was just an additional body for Airshows.. so I do not miss shots all the time.... you know ... To long argh... to short.....

So I have a D200 winging its way to me...... Lets see what the learning curve will be with this body.

Does anyone who has the D200 have a D80 as well, are there any major differences or is it just a matter of digesting the manual.

The manual is great if you want to spend a week reading it:) More control instantly to hand on the body, plus it feels a lot more solid...

As soon as you figure out the position of the controls, you'll be off no problem I think:)
 
That sounds just the ticket.... I will ask one daft question first...

There are two buttons on the front of the camera, on my D80 I have the Depth of Field preview button, any idea what the other one is for....

Thats the function (Fn) button. You can assign different functions to it that are accessible in the menus

Whats going on. Three people from the Diddy Dave's London meet have brought new camera, jjpearce, fraggle and now you. I'm skint already from being a poor student, not sure I'll manage a new body, but a 1ds mk111 would be on my list.

DiddyDave has that effect on me. I keep spending money.

I went from Pentax to a D200, an 18-70, 10-20 and now a SB-800 and SC-29 are on the way. :lol:

And its cos Ive known him since Oct...

One day with DD and they're buying new camera's image if they spent a week with him! :eek:

Seems like a very sensible idea..... prior to the meet could you post the documentation requirements of the specialist as i would not wish to have a wasted journey..

Oh dear!! another skint Tp'er!! im suppreised you haven gone for the D3!! the money you contractors flease from the Traveling public in London!! haha..

I dont know about being too lazy to keep changing lens's but your going to have to lug all that gear about all day!! lol.. i had 2 cameras around my neck at a premier last week!! it WASNT funny!! lol.. i suppose it was.. but only a little...:nono:

Have fun Nig.. i thought you had the 200 anyway.. there ya go.. what do i know about Nikons.. :shrug:

Its all lies we work for the love and respect we get from the Londoners for keeping the system running....

I just keep missing shots long or short never the right one...

Knaw it is a D80 the baby brother with better high iso... (Not as good as the 5D saw some high iso shots yesterday on here and thought...... b****r there good.....
 
hehe.. u should go CANON!! lol..

The 5D is supurb for high ISO!! Im sure the D200 is good to though..

Iv had my new camera for under a wekk and im fully versed with it.. in fact i was ok with it on the first day tbh.. im sure u wont need the hand book for it ...
