As some well know that I actually come from Northern Ireland.....so today is our patron saints day...St Patrick......imagine my giggles when I was speaking to an English lady today when she suggested that my work was rather pleasant and I replied "as it is St Patrick's day I could spend it better with a pint of Guinness in my hand".....her reply........"I have never been to Scotland but I am sure it is a great day.....maybe I will get someday." WTF!! how stupid can someone be:eek:

Lack of knowledge != stupidity.

Stupidity is when you know, but don't use your knowledge.

Someone who does not know could also be stupid, but in the first instance they are ignorant.

Lack of knowledge != stupidity.

Lack of knowledge = just that...lack of knowledge.

Most people lack the knowledge to enable them to construct, for example, an internal combustion engine, but that doesn't make them stupid?

Maybe she's actually 'been' to Ireland. So it wouldn't make sense for her to say she's not been to Ireland. Would it?
So she could only truthfully say it about somewhere she "hadn't" been to. It's logical.

Either that or she has a good sense of humour, or she was disrespecting St. Patrick. Evidence of stupidity it's not.
