...that recommended the 70-200 2.8 IS II USM. :thumbs:

It arrived yesterday and I only had 30 mins to test it in the house as I was going out but all I can say is my first initial impressions of it are.

It's blooming fantastic :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Obviously I've not tested it fully yet, which is something i plan to do over the next couple of evenings but it seems absolutely pin sharp and the bokeh is very very good.

I'm gonna test it against my 135 f2L and I have the feeling i'll be saying cherio to that superb lens as I doubt i'll ever have to use it again.

I'm shooting a Football tournament on Sunday so I'll be able to give you my thoughts of how it performs for sports and i'll be using it with a 1.4x TC so i cant wait to see how well the combo works.
:)

How about a few lingerie shots of the missus with the new lens?

Shhh don't tell Phil :lol:

Nope yours.

Except he was using a 600mm + 1.4x! :lol:

Ha - Phil never expected this when he started the thread.

I remember when he couldn't work last year when he was away with the missus for a dirty weekend in Windermere....

This was the weekend. Phil came back all loved up

Maybe you shouldn't practice with educational videos so much before your girlfriend comes home then? :D

Nice buy, this is one lens that I really covet :)

I'm thinking of selling a Sigma 70-200 f2.8, Sigma 150-500 OS, Sigma 30mm f1.4, Canon 100mm f2.8 and an 8mm fisheye in order to get one...! I might hire one first though.

Just thought i'd update.

I shot a football tournament yesterday using the new lens and the 1.4XTC II and I have to say it performed flawlessly. What impressed me most was how quick the combo acquired focus. It really didn't feel like the extender was even there :)

I cant post any pics unfortunately as I was shooting the event for someone else so you'll have to take my word for it haha :thumbs:
