Yep I noticed that - hard to be at fault when you're not moving and someone actually has to accelerate to hit you !!!

Glad she's fine :)

From the video it looks like he might possibly not have seen the oncoming car due to the windscreen/door pillar 'blind spot' and the angle he'd approached the junction at, and just pulled out, instead of stopping and checking the road was clear before doing so? Also, where's his lane discipline, it looks like he totally cut the corner when pulling out? If it's as it looked to me on the video, I'm afraid I think he ought to seriously consider giving up driving (or at the very least have his driving assessed by an experienced instructor to see if he's safe to continue).

After viewing that, and witnessing something similar on Monday when a car pulled out of a sideroad into the front door of a passing car, a dashcam is on my shopping list.
Glad no-one was hurt and you have the evidence, in the old days that would have been a classic knock for knock.

Stuck in traffic and the car behind my wife pulled out and floored it, clipping her back bumper and cracking the light. The insurance company contacted their insurers and low and behold, they weren't even in the area that afternoon! We produced the dash cam video and luckily it jogged their memory and they were there after all!!!!

We both have dash cams and would not be without them anymore.

Personally, I think they should be built in to every car.

Wise move, you may never need it we had ours for a few years before this. get aMicro SD card with 32GB so it doesn't get over written too often will loop playing setting.
Mine is in 5 minute segments and one segment follows immediately onto the next

another accident we passed

Get the biggest card your device will support. My dashcam records in 1440p for the front and 720p for the rear - a 128GB card only last seven hours before overwriting.

Is that a problem?
I don't see why it matters as long as it saves the section when the accident occurs....

Had one fitted for around four year now, comes on when I start the car, but touch wood never had to use it like in the case of the OP.
Better to be safe than sorry with all these **se*oles you see driving around.

Not a problem at all, I only ever save important stuff, which it does automatically or I can do manually,
Don't use the full 1440p it's set to 1080 60fps and just as clear, rear view camera runs the same
Only use a 64g card but one thing I had to do was buy a new card for this camera as it
need a micro sd u3 card, typically all mine were u1 for the previous dash cam

So much already mentioned, but you can throw in lack of indicator as well. That guy really needs to get off the road, what if a child was crossing; they'd have no chance.
