Hi can anyone help...

I would like to get my Nikon D80 hooked up to my laptop, to remotely trigger the camera and view what I have taken. I am know there is software on the market but I would like to try and find something that is free to download, reliable and not too intense to use.

I use diyphotobits and it does what you need. I use it for time lapse photography then make a video from my images in quicktime pro.

Clarke.

Are you Mac or PC? - I use Sofortbild which is very good. Unless you have a PC, in which case ignore me.. but it may be of use to someone else :)

Do you get any software with your camera? Canons eos utility allows tethering but I don't know nikons.

I think Nikons Camera Control is the equivalent, although this is at a cost. Not sure if you can do it with ViewNX that comes with the camera?

Fantastic link - software looks great. I wasn't even interested in tethered shooting until I saw this and had to download it...

I hadn't used tethered shooting until I found this, then I find reasons to use it! Great app, especially free of charge!
