I was sent a ZENIKO ZF04 'Mini-Camera Flash' and have doen some tests to show you . It has a 'Hot-Shoe' only connection, and has contains a special Battery which is charged from a Computer USB B size slot. There are 2 small LED lights which go red when charging and Green when ready to fire or when fully charged in Computer, The neat little box contains the Instructions and the USB charging lead and a small bag. The POWER can be set to FULL or HALF by pressing the Left Control to swich ON then the Right Control like a 'Sun' to switch to Half Power. When GREEN you can press the Left Control to test the flash and also to switch OFF by holding IN the control . I found a Guide Number of 40 using Feet for ISO / ASA 400 Digital or Film -- so for a subject 10 feet away on FULL POWER the Aperture is f4 for a good exposure. I used ISO/ASA 100 in Bright sun outdoors so the Guide Number was only 20 . You cannot take flash photos at a Far Distance -- it is just NOT powerful enough BUT the idea IS to use it for 'Fill-in Flash' for FACES in close-up and Objects especially in Contrasty Lighting Conditions . In dull WINTER light on a Dark Day it would be excellent to brighten faces . I found it especially Useful for cameras which do NOt have a 'Built-In Flash' such as my Asahi Pentax Spotmatic-F .
The TOBY JUGS
were on full power at ISO /ASA 100 and f5.6 then the second one I used a SUNPAK Auto 36FD flash with a 'Slave Cell' at f9 so the ZENIKO is very good to use with a more powerful flash fitted with a Slave Cell Flash Test 01.jpgFlash Test 02.jpgFlash Test 04.jpgFlash Test 05.jpgFlash Test 06.jpgFlash Test 07.jpgZENIKO 01.jpgZENIKO 02.jpgZENIKO 03.jpgZENIKO 04.jpgZENIKO 05.jpg
