Term time holidays

Lets hope the supreme court refuse the right to appeal and we can stop wasting money on this nonsense.
Its getting bloody stupid isn't it?

I dunn I am in favour of the gov and the council, I like to go on holiday knowing when the brits and their kids will not be holidaying :)
I think kids should go to school when they are 4 and not be let out again until they are 18 and have a job :D

Maybe he has young kids about and that's the only place he can get peace and quiet.

Not that I would dream of hiding in the loo of course :whistling:

I'm pleased to hear I wasn't the only one doing that :)

Never have time off during school hols and try and avoid touristy places, mind you they still seem to reasonbly ok during the week,
suppose parent have to work even if the kids are on hols.
Zoos seem to be over run by kids on school trips during term time too, how do they work that one out ?

Good thing about school hols is less cars about during drop off and pick up times;)

I even notice that on "early starts" while the birds are still clearing their throats and well before the kids are up!

If they win the appeal, he can always take it to the ultimate place. :D

There are other toilet things that require one handers :)
No, actually the sad thing is you feel the need to relegate that to the bathroom....like it's shameful and to be hidden.

Doesn't it make you blind?

I'll be taking my son out of school for 2-3 days later this year to go to my bother's wedding. It will have zero negative impact (he is 5) and more likely a positive impact on his general development. If I hear Ms Morgan say one more time every day out of school affects your long-term prospects she is either making it up or referencing highly debatable research.

If this waste of money takes place, all that will happen is that parents will do what they have always done, call in and say there child is sick and off they go, or just pay the fine. Great way to teach kids to pull sickies from an early age!

I'm always astounded when some minister believes they have a better idea than me or the people actually teaching my children having never met them.

My son has 100% attendance and has never been late so I assume, based on the recent case, they should approve my request, but I highly doubt it still. Confusion and stupidity reign, congratulations Ms Morgan. The only hope is we get so distracted with Brexit this falls to the bottom of the list of things to look at.

I have more sympathy if they were talking about a 15 year old getting ready for GCSE with bad attendance already, but that's the point, it should be case by case dependent on what is coming up. It should also be remembered that kids need social development as well as just academic, and holidays and trips help greatly with this in my experience.

That's what I tried to tell them!
They'll never let me back in that zoo... :(
