Well i was struggling to come up with a theme so i thought....i'll just have a quick snack to help my thought process, then it struck me...

The theme for this week is

Food

I've tried to pick something that everyone can have a go at. I've never done food photography before so expect some dodgy offerings from me :lol:

Usual rules apply::rules:
All enties must be new photos, taken within the time frame of the comp.
Maximum of 3 entries per person.
Limited PP, cropping, exposure control, sharpening etc is okay, multi layered cut and pasting is not.
The winner chooses the theme for the following challenge

Entries can be posted from 8pm on Thursday 26th until 8pm on Sunday29th, with the winner announced later that evening.

I took my first ever food pics this week so I can't say I've really done much other, so I'll take on the challenge :)

The best thing about this is I'll have to cook something first :D
 
Hmmm.. How to shoot it without eating it first :D Good idea, time to try thinking out of the cake tin a bit
 
Saw the subject and thought great I've wanted to do a particular food shoot for a while now here’s my chance but then read the rules and I can't do it as it involves a lot of pp work to make the effect so I'm back to the drawing board.

Does beer count as a food group???? :thinking::thinking::thinking:

my hubby says he has 4 main food groups: meat, fat, beer and bread.... ohh he is sooo healthy:)
 
So I'll take that as a yes beer is now officially a food group:thumbs:

I know it helps me lose weight as it appears the bubbles have zero calories :woot:
 
OK, I threw a few ideas around on this one, and even went out for an hour this morning and grabbed a few shots, but didnt really like any of them, but wanted to avoid the 'still life' food shots. However, a rumbling tum and the need to walk the dogs this evening saw me and Mr Yv and young Ms Yv head up to the high road to the Greek Restaurant we frequent. The guys in there are great, especially in the take away side so I took the camera too. Of course I also have to go back at weekend with a few prints :lol:

All shot on D300, Sigma 24-70 f2.8, @ ISO 2000

The main man, take away side, toned this one a bit too just for interest. I am working up to inviting him for a proper shoot, he is quite cool looking, not sure I got his most flattering pose in this shot ;)

I like those! Very brave, maybe i should have taken my camera to the indian takeaway tonight?..too late now, but it was very nice!:)

Not really, known them for a while so asking wasn't as difficult as it might have been, but it was bloody warm next to that charcoal grill thing :gag: The chicken kebab was fab though, mmmmmmmm...... :D
 
oh don't... i've already eaten far too much!

Thats what i like to hear though, suffering for your art;)
 
Ok its not quite the arty food shot i was thinking of but here the leftovers from last nights takeaway (just like to point out this was taken last night- its not been festering allday):)

I was planning to take the normal food shots as well but just couldn't resist when I spotted my 5 month old grandson been fed.

The look on his face said it all to me "I'd rather go back to the bottle than face this for the rest of my life":lol:

Jamie Olivers Thai Green Curry paste.

You can see Coriander seeds, basil, lime zest, chilli, ginger, coriander, lemon grass, spring onion, garlic, lime leaves all zapped in the processor

Heres mine took advantage of a nice sunny day today, I just like the way the guys eyeing up his lady friends ice cream, Lots of great entries this week :thumbs:

Bit of a disaster this morning, took some pictures of my Grandsons breakfast, I had to prepare it for him as I wanted to photograph it. I took my shots and gave him his breakfast, had a look at the images (or didn't) as I then discovered I had not put a CF card in the bleddy camera. Seemed like I then had to have the same thing too after I retook the photographs.

In second place with his gorgeous slow cooked lamb is Fabs, ooohh i bet that tasted nice.

And in first place with the main man in the kebab shop is YV. Love everything about it, actually think his expression is great, hes like "yes i am an artist! and is my canvas!" Love it.
