Tennis photographer causes mayhem

I had to search for this but it seems to have been a case of "prima donna" meets "total idiot"...
The photographer, who appeared to be trying to find a position in the long-lens pit at the side of the court, was later escorted out of Louis Armstrong Stadium by security.

"His credential has been revoked for the 2025 US Open," United States Tennis Association organisers told BBC Sport.

Over reaction?

He tried to move position at Match Point. Utterly unprofessional and he deserved everything that he got.

No sympathy what-so-ever.
My 'over reaction' comment was in regards to the tennis match not the fate of the photographer. The encouragement of the crowd to boo by Medvedev thus delaying the next serve by almost 6 minutes was disgraceful.

Nope. I still don't think that it was an over reaction. A reversal of second to first service at Match Point is huge.

And Medvedev went on to win the set. He also won the 4th set.

It was an appalling over reaction by both Medvedev and the crowd.

Yes he did. But at that point Bonzi had just been given an extra pass to finish the match.

It boils down to the fact that the actions of a photographer affected the course of play. Which is never acceptable.

This is of course indisputable but what was on display was a petulant, arrogant man who had lost all self-control.
What saddened me was, not that excuse for a sportsman, but that sitting immediately behind him with a front row seat to his loss of control were at least three youngsters, who sadly may go on to view his actions as an acceptable way to behave.
