Call me paranoid but I always worry when I'm walking with my TC attached that the lens is going to fall off (well the body as the lens is attached to a Black rapid strap by the tripod plate).

I'm using a Kenko TC and it seems quite easy that the switch can be pressed in and it all come apart.

Are Nikon TC's better or the same in this respect, am I just being weird, do you worry and have some kind of safety rope? ;)

On my D700 and my Kenko telecon, the button not only needs to be pressed but the lens/converter also has to be turned through about 45° before it can be detatched. If you're truly that worried, use some light chain between the camera's strap rings and the R Strap's connection for peace of mind.

What lens is it? Can you not sling the lens over your shoulder since it should help to spread the weight a little.

Personally if that was me and I was worried, I would try to beg/borrow/rent another brand and see what the difference is. Nearly all manufacturers would test their items with various weights/lenses so im sure it should be ok.

Nod

Yeah the button has to be pressed and then rotated, sounds like im just being paranoid ;) although I have been thining about hooking something from the lens to the body like a chain, cheers.

70-200, normally without the TC i just use the Nikon strap and hang it from my shoulder but with the TC attached I def dont like that idea so use the BR strap but then worry about the button. Might look at the Nikon TCs see if the button is any firmer. Ta.
