Don't buy a Sony or Minolta TC as they won't attach to most lenses as the front element in them is further forward than in other TCs so they will not join together.
The Kenko ones are very popular. I have the telepro 300. It does not correct EXIF. Only transmits it but that is not a big issue. Works with most lenses but as with all TCs some lenses stick out to far at the back and so won't fit.
If thats the 300mm f4 then you should keep AF. If its the 70-300mm I wouldn't bother.
