Tele converter question

Hi all, Newbie here,
I have a D80 with a 18-200 & a 70-300 lens. Most of my photograpy is of fishing boats which can be some distance away. I am wondering if a x2 tele-converter will suit my lenses & if so will the auto focus & VR functions still work.
 
If you speak to Nikon Sales or Support, they'll be able to tell you if your lenses will work and if all features will still operate.

There are some limitations with certain lenses and converters so best to check before you invest.
 
Neither lens is suitable for a TC.

You could physically fit a Kenko 2x Pro 300 TC, and it might even autofocus in good light, but the image quality will be awful. VR will still work.
