TC quandary

I have been thinking about a 1.4 TC to fit my 70-300 usm is
f4-5.6 lens ( canon)
I think I have read all the archive posts now and it seems that the sigma one will work and retain the AF where the canon one won't (due the the protusion) with the loss of one stop?
Did I get this right or not?

The Canon version will NOT fit.
Kenko and Sigma should.

You'll lose 1 stop with any 1.4x and 2 stops with a 2.0x

If you use the Kenko it wont report back that its there so AF will still work at > f5.6 (on a non pro body)

Not sure if the sigma does the same?

Eitherway an ickle bit of sticky tape solves the prob.

Ohh and focussing will be slower than a dog called woodbine
