Have spotted a couple of theses in different sites ,can a greenhorn get good results or, should i stay away from the big zooms and learn more first before spending ...:help:

I've got the 28-300 , used it with a 300D & 30D. Any questions feel free to ask :)

I have the 55-200, fantastic value for money and yes you can get good results.

Are you referring to one of the following?

28-300
70-300
55-200?

Or something else?
Hi there Joe T .. i was leaning towards the 28-300 ,it would save me having to change lenses less frequent less chance dust being a prob

I bought my 28-300mm about 2 months after I got my 300D and it lives on my camera :). It is a budget zoom (if you can describe £200 as budget  ) but it does give very good results.

Well impressed Mrgubby vivid colours AND detail ... i've read about lenses being quick and others being slow, forgive my ignorance but is the 28-300 slow or quick ...Finally what configoration (ie af ..mf..) is the lens used in your photos shown cheers

Don't know if it's slow or quick as I've got nothing to compare it with . The above shots were all taken in AF with my 300D.

I've got shots of everything from motorsport to mushrooms so if you want anymore examples etc just ask :)

Some picts of motorsport would be cool mrgubby as thats probably my first choice, and the main reason getting into photography in the first place

I'll dig a few car / bike shots & post them :)

Hey mrgubby. I don't want to intrude here, but do you have any birdy shots taken with the 28-300? I'm trying to decide which lens to get when I finally get my first DSLR, and the shots you posted look impressive.

Thanks :)

Ewan
