Bit of a cheeky one and possibly should be in wanted, but does anyone who is local to the Wirral/Liverpool area have the tamron tap in hub for nikon lenses that they wouldn't mind lending me to update one lens? Need to update my 17-35mm f2.8-4 and since it is the only tamron lens I own, or am likely to own for the foreseeable I don't see much value buying the hub if someone nearby is able to help. Happy to collect, likewise happy to pay postage there and back if that is easier.

Hopefully a TP member can help out but have you considered contacting local camera clubs to see it they can help! It perhaps might be a case of making a donation to the club coffers for their help

Best of luck finding a solution.

This is probably somewhat frowned upon, but why not buy from Amazon, very carefully use the console once and then return it? Just make sure you're buying from Amazon (who can massively afford a few returns) and not an independent camera shop just using Amazon for delivery.

Maybe check MPB to see if they might have one for sale and then sell it back to them,,,
They have, it’s about 50 quid iirc. Might be an option. Just exploring the local camera club route first before considering anything more along those lines. Tried contacting a couple of local camera shops and they don’t offer it as an in store service unfortunately

Have you asked Tamron UK if they could do it for you
If they can't they may recommend someone who will,
Fire off an email and see what happens.

I may well try just that. I have tried the local camera shops and a local repair place, and a friend of mine who is in the local club has said he will make some enquiries for me there too.

Thanks for the help everyone

Quick update, I spoke to the guys at fixation on the recommendation of Tamron UK and they told me that they can do the update free of charge, just postage required, so that is now the plan. Thanks for the suggestions guys, much appreciated
