Tamron 70-200mm

Hi have been looking at once of these for a while. I do need the range now of 70-200, but I cant warrant a Nikon no matter how much I want it!

Tamron SP AF70-200mm f2.8 Di LD(IF)

Is the model, has anyone got experience with it and am I right assuming that the IF is indeed internal focus so no movement on the body of the lens?

the af is very slow. but pic quality is very good.

It will be for the odd sporting even my daughter does, could be running or Muay Thai Boxing. Also a bit of wild life if that makes a difference on AF?

in all honesty eric, its a shame the af is not faster else it would be a cracker, but if you want faster af try a sigma 70-200mm or even the nikon 80-200mm f2.8 there alot quicker af speed.

I thought the Sigma was better, at least heard so anyway. Someone on another forum had one for sale at £400, but was going to offer a little less. Probably wait for a Sigma to appear.

the sigma has better af speed the tamron i would say has better image quality. the nikon has both.
heres a nikon 80-200mm f2.8 for a little more.
