Bought this lens via TP in 2010 and was very happy with it but as time has passed there is an increasing level of softness appearing from the left of my images which puts me off using it. The following shot should give a better idea what I'm talking about:

I'm going to Australia in March and want to get some decent low light shots around the Opera House etc and can't afford upgrading to the Canon 17-55 until after I get back, so I'm trying to see if this issue can be fixed or whether I'll have to go for a budget fast lens as an interim measure. That shot was on a 30D which is now supplemented by a 60D.
