Just wondering if anyone has any comments or examples of photos taken with this lens. After deliberating long and hard over the 17-40L, I just don't think I can justify the cost. The reviews I've read on the Tamron seem to think that it's an excellent little lens for the money, and it's just about within budget. I've read a few positive comments about it on here, but I'd like to see examples if possible.

I'd like to know just how large the CA problem is too, since that's what really annoys me about the kit lens.

Also, any other suggestions for a lens to replace my kit lens would be greatly appreciated.

I want it to be approx 17-18mm at the wide end. Don't think I'd have any use for one as wide as 10mm, because the distortion will be ridiculous.. especially as most of my shots will be architecture. The range on the kit lens is absolutely perfect, I just want something of better quality.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

You can search pbase for shots by lens if you want examples.

Thanks a lot. Had never heard of this place before. Some excellent examples with the lens.

I've put one on hold at Jessops, so I can go in and test it out. I'll be taking my kit lens too, and taking photos outside against the light sky to compare the CA between the two lenses.
