Just came across this so i thought i would post it.

 
Has anyone bought one of these ?

I only know some one on another forum that has one, he uses it for bird photography it looks good.
 
Thanks Mike - I had a look at flickr and the images look good but some reports say it's not very good at 400mm which is where you want it to be good.

I have a dilemma as I have a 16-80 and 70-300. But 300 is "suddenly" pretty short since I hired a 150-600 g2. So I either add the big g2 or sell the 70-300 and replace it with a 100-400. I wouldn't miss the 30 ( 45 )mm at the wide end and I'd gain some reach...

I’m having the same thoughts myself, very interested in the Tamron but reluctant to jump in. The Sigma version has had some good reviews and if the Tammy is better then it’s certainly on my list but as you say, it would be at 400 most of the time so needs to be sharp at the long end.
I’ll have a look at Flickr as well, Mike’s Sigma shots look good.
