For some reason, (ahem, clears throat) I cant access the talktalk/sale page, but sure I heard on the radio that even existing customers can get "free" broadband and a new router for line rental price only, for 18 months. i.e. £17.70 .
Considering most providers want you to pay for a router this seems reasonable to me.

Thinking of going for it but dont know what number to ring. If anyone is feeling kind and can check my facts and maybe give me a number to ring and get ball rolling, Id be most grateful. Apparently I only have til tomorrow 14th to sort it. So I'm going to have ring them from work here.

Thanks

There have been a few threads recently insinuating that talk-talk are more like silent-silent.
Especially when it goes pear shaped, have a fish about before committing yourself.

I've been with them for donkeys and been thinking about changing for almost as long. In the last few years have only lost connection once though and that was sorted after a couple of days.
But new router and £18 for 18 months is about the cheapest going at present. Even plusnet more expensive.

I've been with them a short period of time, since they took over from tesco, 6 months (I think it was) who I was with for many years with no issues.
they took over and the speed was very very erratic, at times, dropping to 0.3Mbs up and down.
Countless emails to Dildo and her office, eventually they stopped communicating.
Even the new FOC router wouldn't connect and kept throwing error messages.

The connection is fairly stable, at present, somewhere around 2-2.5mbs down and 0.5mbs up. but it still has its moments,
I only stay because I'm waiting for fibre that has been promised to this area for a good couple of years,
and have no wish to jump from the pan to the fire.
