Hi everyone,

we have a woodburning stove in the living room and sometimes when I look at it the flames look amazing. I'd love any tips of how to photograph what I see with my eye. I would be taking photographs of the fire with the door closed through the glass. Unless the fire is dying or starting it isn't safe to have the door open.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you will may struggle the Finepix - As you would need to use some filters -circular polarizing to reduce the glass glare maybe combine with a natural density filter to bring the exposure down...something like that for me it would be a suck it see and adjust...

Hope that helps

I'd say to stand any chance of this you'd need the room as dark as possible as this would reduce reflection from the glass.

Camera on a tripod and experiment with different shutter speeds to allow the ambient light from the fire.

Using flash would pretty much kill off the effect I think you'd want to acheive with this kind of shot.
