I recently went to the Harry Potter studio tour just not of London. I took my Nikon D80 with me to try and get a few pictures to capture the day but I'm really disappointed with the results. Photos where i've not used the flash are not sharp and photos were the flash fired when leaving the camera in Auto mode as drab and don't capture the colours of the exhibition.

Whats the best way for places like this to get good photos that capture the exhibits?

What lens were you using?

For indoor stuff, I generally use fast primes, such as a 35mm f/2.

Also, what settings were you using when not using a flash?

Yeah, first thing is you need FAST glass, on the D80 that would mean the Nikon 35mm f/1.8DX - about £100 second hand or new for £150ish.

You then need to learn how to use it - as Jim says, what settings were you using?
