Yes
hi all, just wondering if someone could recommend some lighting solutions for taking pics of my lenses to make them look like (or near to) 'product photographs'.

i have 3 speedlights with triggers, umbrellas a reflector and a softbox. I was thinking along the lines of putting the lens on my white table (with cream wall backing), using the softbox to light the lens, using another flash to white out the background and perhaps incorporating the reflector as well.

But how do i avoid unwanted reflections in the glass etc? Thanks!

Do it exactly as you proposed, don't waste your time and money on a light tent.

Use this method to deal with the reflection in the lens

or you could join the dark side and shoot your shizzle like this lol

i will be making a tutorial soon if you cant already work out whats being done here

thanks for the link garry, looks interesting. Already ordered the light tent - only a tenner and could be interesting to muck about with / experiment with a bit.

simon - looks great! Look forward to the tutorial
