hello to one and all.

I've only just come across this forum (linked from Vanilla Days). Seems like as good a place as any to get involved.

I've been into photography (work permitting) for the last ten years or so. I started out with a Zenit rangefinder commemorating the 1980s Moscow Olympics which was a gift from my wife's father. Moved on to Olympus OMs (which I adored). I had a darkroom in the cellar of my previous house. Moving house a couple of years ago meant taking stock and moving in to the digital field.

I'm using a Nikon D200 with a few lenses (18-200, sigma 18-50, sigma 10-20, Nikkor 50) and a few accessories. I mostly do HDR work, which was part of a project I have been working on to document the changing landscape of Manchester.

I am thinking of going two ways next - either black and white urban abstracts or to try to cover and document a local boxing club over a few months.

The link to my website is in my signature. I put it together over the last day or so (trial with Zenfolio) and would welcome any comments/critiques.

Cheers one and all

Velvet :)

Hi and welcome

Welcome. Yes, some nice shots on your site.

Great introduction and the stuff on your website is excellent. The HDR stuff of Manchester is spot on in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing some more stuff from you.

Cheers.

wow I didnt look at your website before, but you have some stunning shots :) Really like the "In The City" stuff

You have some shots that I recon would do really well in this month competion on here - http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=51015 - the theme is structures :)

Thanks for having a look and for the compliments. I had a look at the competition and I will definitely enter although there are some really strong entries.

I liked your Piccadilly Station entry (the HDR). I went to do a shoot there but got thrown out by security when setting up. Did you shoot handheld?
