Hi
I'm new to all this.........both digital photography and communicating electronically.....so scared of making a total fool of myself, but here goes!

Spent ages deciding which camera to get: Canon, Nikon, etc. On the day of trying out, it was the Canon 350 D that fitted my arthritic hand (and my purse) the best. Swapped the "kit" lens for an IS 17-85mm lens on the advice of the nice shop person (for not too much extra ). Also got the lens protector Skylight filter and a bag!! Have since added a tripod, so I'm all set for now.

Live music gigs are my "thing" at the moment, largely 'cos son in a band! Will post a few pics one day, when I'm feeling brave!!

Cheers for now,

XX

Welcome to the forum, they are a friendly bunch here and don't feel you need to be brave to post up your pictures, I think my wife posted them up within a few minutes of joining. Make yourself at home and feel free to ask any questions regardless of how daft they may seem to you.

Theres no such thing as a stupid question :)

Welcome along, no need to worry, ask any questions you feel you want to, nothing is ever a silly question!

Welcome aboard, good call on the lens, 18-55 is a very capable lens, but the 17-85 is the better choice if you can stretch to it

Welcome aboard! Good choice of lens there for a general purpose 'walkabout' lens. The image stabilisation is an absolute godsend.

Wonder how much that is, I'm looking for a replacement for my 18-55 one, my dad has replaced his with a 28-105.

Firstly,
Hello  and :welcome: to the forum

Secondly, have a read of the tutorials as I'm sure you'll find a lot of good sound info,
tips and hints, as has been already said there's no such thing as a daft question for if you don't ask you don't learn.

Thirdly,
As you are the proud owner of a 350D may I be so bold as to recommend getting the battery grip.
I noticed from your post that you mentioned having an arthritic hand.
Having the bettery grip on your 350D will give you a greater area to hold, giving you I hope a more comfortable grip.
Hope that maybe of some help.

I'm also new here and they are all a very friendly bunch. Me, you have to watch out for!

Welcome!

Renee

Would that be.......The Recovery are a Notts-based rock band featuring Lee Rickers (Guitars), Al Watson (Guitars), Paul Hautenne (Drums) and LT (who is actually a laptop…)..........or is that another group? :)

Hello & :welcome: look forward to seeing your pictures

I'm a bit late but hello and welcome - this is a great place to learn and is used by a really friendly bunch of people at all levels.

Sorry for delay in responding - No it's a Leighton Buzzard based band - last seen at Musik4u concert in Milton Keynes in August.

Looking forward to seeing some of your pics

Like the pics a lot - I was going to post some of mine - not now though :shake:
